The whole purpose of prayer is not to get things but to get to know God. God will hear you if you'll be real and honest with Him.

Yes, it is possible for us to speak to God in prayer. If we are most of all real, then honest and simple with God, He will not only hear us, but he will answer our prayers. Find out more about how we can get to know God through prayer.

We pray not to let God know what we need but because by doing so we are choosing to know His will. Only then can we ask Him to bring about in our lives the things He knows are best.

How do we get to know someone deeply? By spending time with them, learning how they think, recognizing their voice. It's the same with getting to know God.

However it happens, you and I are going to die. And at that moment the only one who will be with us is the one who made us. It's better to get to know Him now than to wait until you are face to face.

we have loved ones in our lives who desperately need to be changed yet year after year we see no change. It's because we don't them enough to keep on praying for them.

: God brings difficult situations into our lives because he knows that Man's extremity is God's opportunity. God wants us to plead with Him importunity, repeatedly and continuously for the impossible problems we face.

In a fallen world God allows impossible problems to drive us to Him. Never give up praying because man's extremity is God's opportunity.

God wants us to pray for a person until we have the answer. To stop praying for a person or situation means that we have stopped believing God.

God wants to answer our prayers but so few of us will plead with Him repeatedly for the impossible situations we face.

Why doesn't God answer our prayers at times? Could it be that He knows we don't really love the person we're praying for?

God is real in our life when we treat Him as a person and talk with Him. We can learn about His character through the Bible and we can know how involved He is in our lives.

What makes true intercessory prayer different from hopeful wishful thinking that a situation will change? Or is there no difference?

We'll all heard the line, "there's nothing left to do but pray". According to Paul in Romans 1:9 the work of prayer should be the first thing we try and not the last. Our prayers for others is to be our primary work for God.

A Christian's main work is to serve God by praying for others. The key to prayer is God wanting to reveal himself to us so that we can be like Him. Whenever there is something in our nature that is not like Him this can prevent our prayers from being heard.

We pray but when we don't see any answer our prayers deteriorate to If it's your will, Lord. God wants us to be confident he hears and answers. An uncertain attitude is not faith. We need to start by knowing he has an answer and finding what he wants.

We miss out on much of what God has for us because we do not go to him in prayer. When we go to him we need to recognize him as the one who has good things for us. What is important is that we go to him and give him a chance to work in our lives

If you want a relationship with God sooner or later you have to pray. But how to pray? What about unanswered prayer? Why pray if God already knows what he wants? Could there be a life of companionship with God where we know the wonder of his answers?

The only way you can touch God himself is by praying to him yourself. God does not yield his secrets to those who demand that he fits into their schedule. He yields his secrets to those who set sufficient disciplined time for him.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit gives us special insight into issues and problems because the real battle is going on in the heavenly places. The chief weapon in spiritual warfare is praying in the Spirit. It requires time with God so we hear him speak.

Prayer in the Spirit means spending time with God -- going before him in faith and obedience. God wants to show us his will so we can ask him for it. He will not act apart from our asking because he won't violate our free will.

Our free wills cannot be overruled by God. He has allowed us to choose to acknowledge Him. Then we can pray (intercede) for others. God brings circumstances which will allow the prayed for to choose Him.

An intercessor has an absolute identification with Jesus in His death for your own selfish concerns so that the Holy Spirit can begin to give you the desires of Jesus. On this basis, you can listen to the Spirit and pray His will for others.

To intercede we must come to a place where we forget our own concerns and take up God's concerns. We become a bridge between God and people. We learn to pray from our position at God's right hand which allows us to see beyond the problem to what God sees

God will always answer our prayers. He will not let us pray on and on without giving us an answer. He will either explain to us why we are not getting an answer or he will show us the real prayer He wants us to pray.

God has ordained that His kingdom here on earth will be created by the Holy Spirit in response to our prayers. Therefore the real work of the Lord is prayer - for by it God works his miracles and people begin to change.
