Can you Sleep Like a Baby?
My Second Sermon, Millai's Daughter Effie by Sir John Everett Millais

"Unless you turn from your sins and become as little children you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven." Matthew 18:3
Children can sleep anywhere. They are not burdened with the worries of the world. Their life is simple -- so simple that when they are tired they can just close their eyes and sleep soundly. Even though this little lady is in the midst of a journey she can rest. She knows her father is close by and will take care of anything that is needed. She doesn't need to be anywhere special or dressed differently to sleep. Rest is anywhere that her father is.
We are all in the midst of our life journey and dressed for traveling but nothing pleases our Father in Heaven more than when we can rest anyplace, anytime and in any state. We can rest as peacefully as this child because our Father is taking care of the details. He won't let anything happen to us. He won't let us miss our stop. He is ever watching over us when we are weary and unable to watch ourselves. Don't be afraid to close your eyes and fold your hands. Let yourself be kept under the watchful eye of God the Father.
