What Did Jesus Teach?
The Kingdom of God is the Key to Finding Our Purpose
Jesus came to earth to return to us the kingdom that God had originally given us to rule over but that we lost through sin. Adam and Eve didn’t lose a religion when they sinned -- No, they lost control over the earth – the very territory they were to have dominion or rulership over. In losing their kingdom they lost the very purpose of their lives. Jesus came to bring this back to us.
One day, when Jesus was talking with the crowds, He told them directly that they would never need to worry about the basics of everyday life – what they would eat or drink or the clothes they would wear. Let’s listen in as Jesus spoke with the crowds. Listen carefully for the two priorities that He gave them.

What are these two priorities?
We are to seek first for the Kingdom of God – and then--- we are to seek for His righteousness. What does this mean? The Kingdom of God is the rule of God over our hearts and lives.
But, why would we want God’s rule instead of being free to do what we want to do? If we think about it we’ll be able to understand why. God is our Creator and Father. He knows why He made us and what the purpose of our life is. So, if we align our life with the King that made us then we actually make a choice to live out the meaning and purpose for our lives. Our priorities in life actually become God’s priorities lived out through us.
There is nothing more satisfying than living out the purpose God made us for and Jesus is a testimony to that. All of us have met or heard of someone that goes about their life doing something that they just had to do. It was inside of them and they had to live it out. It wasn’t work for them. They loved fulfilling their purpose. Now God wants that for each of us and we’ll find that purpose as we seek first his kingdom or his rule over our lives.
