Implications of the Resurrection

If Jesus did rise from the dead, as the early Christians said, then we can be sure about a lot of things. We can be sure that Jesus IS who he claims to be ---- the Son of God, sent to earth as a man and now back with God in the Heavenly places. We can be sure as the Son of God that he had the authority and power to fulfill his mission. He provided the final sacrifice for our sins. He destroyed our old perverted nature that keep us sinning. He did this IN himself on the cross so that when he died, we too died.

Then he gave us a new nature – his own indwelling spirit-- so that we have the power to overcome sin in our lives. We can be sure that because Jesus fulfilled his mission -- WE can start over if we want to --- living as new creations in Christ, walking in partnership with God and fulfilling the purpose he has for our lives. We can be optimistic about ourselves, mankind and this present world because it means that it’s still in the hands of the risen Lord of the universe.

We can be sure that there is life after death and Jesus is prepared to take us there. Finally if Jesus is alive then it’s possible for us to meet him! Let’s talk more in the next video about how this is possible.
